Since rowing was first introduced at Headington over 30 years ago, HSOBC has become one of the largest and most admired school Boat Clubs in the UK. After years of renting facilities at Godstow, we’re delighted to now have Headington’s very own Boathouse at Long Wittenham in Oxfordshire.
The 8 acre site provides the Boat Club with 300 metres of river frontage and 5km of uncongested water. As well as a large landing stage, boat bays and indoor storage, the new facilities include a crew room, changing facilities and a kitchen, providing a space that Headington can really call home.
The first row took place from Long Wittenham in January 2024 and the Boathouse was officially opened by Katie Greves, Headingtonian (2001), Silver medallist, 2016 Olympics in April 2024.
We're aiming to raise £500,000.00. So far we've raised £100,000.00
