Pupils took part in a day of reflection during the annual Chaplaincy retreat on Friday 6th March.
Held at the School’s local parish church, St Andrew’s, the 25 pupils from Years 7 to 13 were joined by Catherine Clayton of the BeSpace charity, who led in a prayer reflection.
Tom Price and Aase Victoria Bøe, from the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics, also led a session considering the toughest questions of the Christian faith.
Chaplain Rev Tom Howell said: “A bountiful amount of pizza was consumed and worship songs were sung as we entered into a deeper level of engagement in God’s presence and peace.
“In one of the busiest periods in the school calendar, it was an essential day for many of us – and appropriately during Lent.”
Some of the pupils responded to the day with this feedback: “It was like being able to relax and rest in God’s presence… It was very inclusive and interactive, a day full of fun and pizza… I absolutely loved the trip, to uncover more of the Christian faith and to explore more and to connect/bond more with people of our community.”
